Use of the Trailforks App will provide riders with routable worldwide MTB trail data and POI s allowing you to easily search for trails directly on your Edge 1040. Working along with the Forksight mode, this mode will automatically display upcoming forks in your trail and shows where you are within a trail network. Off course recalculation allows riders to pause their route guidance to explore off your current course and will allow you to resume at your convenience getting you back on track to complete your adventure. This Edge device will also go as far as notifying you when it s time to hydrate or eat with Nutrition and Hydration alerts. Your Edge 1040 is loaded with tons of safety features such as incident detection, inReach device compatibility, Varia compatibility, and a bike alarm, providing instant peace of mind. Pair your 1040 with a compatible inReach device to view and reply to messages, share trip data, and trigger interactive SOS alerts should an emergency arise. If an incident is detected, a message will be sent automatically to your emergency contacts to notify them and provide them with your location as well. Group messaging will send prewritten notes from your Edge to another Edge user with connected with a compatible smartphone.
